In December 2015, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the “EBRD”, the “Bank”) approved its first Strategy for the Promotion of Gender Equality 2016-2020 (the “Gender Strategy” or the “Strategy”). The Strategy aims to increase women’s economic empowerment and equality of opportunities in the countries where the EBRD invests, as an important contributor to well-functioning market economies and inclusive societies – a core component of sustainable and equitable transition. The Strategy articulates the Bank’s view that gender equality is a principal element in the promotion of sound business management and critical to the advancement of transition.
The objectives of the Framework Consultants will be to support the EBRD to deliver projects, policy dialogue and capacity building activities specifically in the area of promotion of women’s access to employment and skills. This will require providing support the Bank and its clients to identify and address barriers to equal opportunities, including:
– Human Resources (“HR”) policy, procedures and practice (ie. Attraction, recruitment, retention, career development, retrenchment, prevention and combatting harassment and governance);
– Technical Skills and training; and
– Supply Chains.
